About Me...

Much of my design background is in theater. In addition to acting, directing, and producing, I've designed sets, costumes, lighting, and properties for various regional theater companies -- as well as for the North Carolina Museum of Art and the North Carolina Symphony.

I also have practical experience in many other fields, including visual and graphic arts; photography; merchandising and retail display; plumbing and electrical work; custom framing; upholstery; landscaping; and event planning.

In 2002 I was asked to design a retail space. Collaborating with the owners, I created an innovative floor plan, custom furnishings and fixtures, and a rich, relaxing color scheme. Soon customers were asking who had designed the store and if I could help them find solutions to design problems in their homes... and that eventually led me to residential design.

A client and friend calls me a "jack of all trades and master of many." While I'm not an expert in all matters, I do have knowledge of many things, both creative and practical, related to the form and function of a comfortable and inviting home.
